INCATE was founded to support innovators in the fight against drug-resistant bacterial infections. It along with the SPEARHEAD flagship project on digitally enabled Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Stewardship is part of a multi-pronged approach to have impact on the societal challenge of AMR.
INCATE is a unique not-for-profit organization that brings together translational and basic research, industry, experienced entrepreneurs and investors from across Europe. It will, together with partners, focus on supporting innovators to take their projects and ideas out of academia and research and develop them into investable ventures.
Founding Academic Members provide access to academic and translation knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship and are Deutschen Zentrum für Infektionsforschung, Leibniz-HKI, NCCR AntiResist and the University of Basel. Industry Partners, Boehringer Ingelheim, Shionogi, Roche and MSD Germany provide funding and feedback on market demand and a number of supporting partners link to a broader community who can help ventures take the next step.
Together with partners INCATE provides innovators with Advice to align with market needs and build a quality translational plan, Community to share ideas and support in building a business to fight infections and Funding to answer critical questions. The management team will provide feedback to any innovator interested to share their ideas and the selection committee will select 3-5 projects a quarter to receive extra support and funding.
