Bridging innovation through health cooperation
The Korea-Basel program is an innovation accelerator led by the Innovation Office at the University of Basel in joint cooperation with Seoul Biohub and the Metropolitan Government of Seoul. Its primary goal is to identify and provide high-potential Korean biotech & health tech startups with direct access to the ecosystems of Basel and Switzerland. Thanks to our partnerships in the Upper Rhine region, the program also provides entry points to our partner incubators and accelerators in France and Germany.
During an intensive two-weeks stay, each cohort of five startups undergoes an elaborate and tailor-made program, consisting of in-depth workshops & pitching trainings with high-level coaches from industry and academia. Alongside these learning sessions, participants also take part in a range of social events, and pre-arranged networking opportunities. This strategic organisation allows startups to optimize their time in Basel, cultivating connections with industry figures and academic experts for meaningful collaborations that maximize their impact and accelerate growth beyond the “Basel experience”. We also encourage startups to explore additional funding opportunities through the Swiss-Korea bilateral Fund.
